FAQ
Common questions about our tools, shipping, and policies — answered directly.
Professional tools are built for continuous daily use in a salon environment — they run hotter, last longer, and are repairable. Key differences: motors (brushless BLDC vs. standard DC), heating elements (nano titanium or ceramic vs. plastic), build quality, and wattage. A professional dryer rated at 2000W with an ionic generator will outperform a consumer model at the same wattage. We stock tools that appear in real salon settings, not just in marketing photography.
Yes — most of our customers are home users who want better results and are tired of consumer-grade tools. Professional tools are not more complicated to use; they are just built better. The main considerations: higher heat settings require you to know your hair type and use heat protectant, and some tools (particularly clippers and trimmers) assume you understand how to set the blade gap correctly.

All tools we carry are rated for US/Canada voltage (120V / 60Hz) unless explicitly noted as dual-voltage. Dual-voltage tools (110–240V) can be used internationally with the correct plug adapter but no transformer. Using a 120V-only tool on 220–240V will damage it. Check the product spec page for voltage information before purchasing for international use.
Ionic dryers emit negative ions that break down water molecules, reducing drying time and frizz. Ceramic dryers distribute heat evenly across the airstream, reducing hot spots and heat damage. Most professional dryers combine both technologies. If you have color-treated or fine hair, look for a dryer with a genuine ion generator rather than just a ceramic-coated barrel — the two are not the same thing.
1 inch plates work for most hair types and lengths — they can straighten and create waves, curls, or flips. 1.5 inch plates are better for long, thick hair where you want to straighten large sections quickly. 0.5–0.75 inch plates are for fine hair, short hair, or precision work. Variable-width plates (tapered) can do most of the above. If you have one flat iron, 1 inch is the right default.
Oil the blade after each use with clipper oil — two drops at each end of the blade, then run for 20–30 seconds and wipe off the excess. After a haircut, brush the blade with the cleaning brush to remove all hair before oiling. Periodically wash the detachable blade (if applicable) in blade wash. Have the blade sharpened when you notice pulling or uneven cutting — typically every 6–12 months with daily professional use.
